When you think about Italy, most people instinctively picture renowned places such as Rome, the Coliseum, the ever Leaning Tower of Pisa; or dishes such as spaghetti, gelato, risotto, and pizza.

While these are all beautiful and delicious Italian staples, there are other places and foods in Italy that are just as wonderful and scrumptious as these.

Case in point: Liguria on the Italian Riviera. Located in the little northern arch of Italy (in other words: above the knee area of the boot!), Liguria is famous for many things.

Italian design products are globally known to be of superior quality. This has made Italy a leader in the design sector. Be it in interior, automobile, industrial or fashion design, Italian products have managed to cut a niche above many other countries.

For this reason, a vast majority of designs are either bought from Italy or emulated from Italy and it is quite common to see products bearing the tag “Made in Italy” showing that it is made by Italian designers.

The Valle dei Templi (in English Valley of the Temples) is a world-famous archaeological site in Agrigento, Sicily.

This area of the historic island that is located off the south of Italy has made it on to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites, and this accolade is a clear message to the rest of the world that the whole area is well worth a visit.

The local Sicilians refer to it as ‘Vaddi di li Tempri’ in their native dialect, and any Agrigento resident would passionately sing the praises of the six key temples, or the Templi di Agrigento that are scattered around the area.

If Italy is often called the "Belpaese" (Italian for “the beautiful country”), there must be a reason.

With its breath-taking landscapes, amazing sceneries and beautiful art and architecture, Italy is for sure one of the most interesting and stunning countries in the world.

There is so much to choose from: if you love art, Rome, Venice and Florence are the perfect city destinations for you, while if you prefer beach life and Italy’s beautiful coastline, then Sicily, Sardinia and Puglia are the right choice to make.
