  • Villa Oratorio is a classic stone farmhouse going back to 1500. It started out as a chapel and in 1876 underwent its first transformation into a farmhouse. Today, thanks to a careful renovation, the house has been transformed into a lovely country residence.

    Villa Oratorio is part of the old Lilliano estate, close to Castellina in Chianti, standing on a hill, where you can take in a beautiful panorama of Chianti near Siena as far as the medieval towers of Monteriggioni.

    Large, furnished external spaces surround the house, with no borders with the surrounding countryside. There is a nice loggia with a table and barbecue, a 7x14m irregular-shaped swimming-pool with toilette and dressing-room. Access is along 200 metres of untarred road. There is parking within the grounds. The furnishings are simple and very comfortable. Air-conditioning on the first floor. There is a laundry with washing-machine.

    On request to be paid on the premises: extra hours of domestic help, cook, bed- and bath-linen changes during the week.  it is also possible to book a guided tour with tasting of various types of wine in the company's cellars, more information on arrival.  A cot for children is available.

    Castellina in Chianti, where you will find shops of all kinds, is 5 kms away, Siena and Radda in Chianti 18 kms, Florence 55 kms, riding stables and tennis 5 kms, golf course 15 kms, Florence airport (Peretola) 65 kms. Internet wi-fi.

    We had a very nice time in Villa Oratorio, our stay was very enjoyable. A couple of particular notes:
    * Location was really beautiful and "having a house on a hill" by yourself felt like a real luxury.
    * The swimming pool was excellent - size, water cleanlyness, amazing view
    * The house was very clean and comfortable - a lot of space
    * The staff at the winery shop was very friendly and helpful - we also did a wine tasting there (really nice).

    Notre séjour à la villa s'est très bien passé. La description et les photos correspondaient en tous points à la réalité. La vue est magnifique, la villa très belle et il y a beaucoup d'espaces. Les petits présents à l'arrivée ont été très appréciés et l'accueil a été chaleureux.
    Retrouver la maison propre tous les jours avec les lits faits est un vrai plaisir.
    La villa est idéalement placée à quelques kilomètres d'un charmant village avec toutes les commodités et proches de grands axes pour accéder facilement à Florence et Sienne. Attention néanmoins de prévenir de ne pas venir en voiture de sport car le chemin d'accès n'est pas goudronné et peut être raviné après une période de pluie.
