  • Charming old stone farmhouse located in the heart of the Chianti district, just 3 km from Panzano in Chianti and 6 Km from Greve in Chianti.
    The property is situated opposite Villamaggio, surrounded by a delightful landscape, along the ancient road known as the Chiantigiana.  This is a winding road that runs along the ridges of the hills, passing through ancient Chianti villages, offering breathtaking views that have been immortalized in photographs famous all over the world.
    Vineyards, olive-groves and old farmhouses preceded by rows of cypress trees: a landscape that has been shaped by wise hands and is famous for the production of fine Chianti wines and excellent olive oil.

    Villa Il Cestello is a typical old Tuscan village in stone, wood and terracotta: three buildings connected to each other by a large room with kitchen and external terraces.  The large indoor spaces and the carefully chosen furnishings guarantee a comfortable stay for big groups and family reunions.

    In the main villa there are twelve bedrooms plus living rooms, dining room.  Here guests can use the spa with heated 6 X 4 m swimming pool with cervical vertebra massage, hydromassage points and two hydromassage chaise longs, 4 person Finnish sauna and 4-person infrared sauna.

    In the adjacent building there are three apartments, each with a bedroom and external areas furnished for outdoor living.

    The property is situated on the edges of a 7-hectare estate with vineyards, olive-groves and woods, surrounded by a garden and large panoramic terraces, ideal for eating al fresco and enjoying the delightful panorama of the Chianti hills.
    A small path leads from the panoramic terrace to a big 16 X 7 m outdoor swimming pool with 300 sq. m teck solarium in a panoramic position.

    I stayed at Il Cestello with my family and friends to participate at the Eroica edition in Gaiole. On our arrival we found a wonderful villa and an excellent welcome. The rooms cozy and well furnished in typical Tuscan style, cleanliness and everything well kept. The view that is witnessed in the morning by opening the windows is priceless, even the outside of the structure is very pleasant with its well-kept garden and swimming pool perfectly integrated, numerous and comfortable outdoor seating from which you can enjoy fabulous sunsets, or you can simply stop to contemplate the fabulous view.
    We also had a very good and generous breakfast.
    We will definitely be back.

    The villa Manager made our stay the best! He was so kind and accommodating. This is truly a beautiful and magical location. Our room was clean, patio views were breathtaking and location was perfect for getting around. We rented a car while we were there and we had no trouble getting around.     Greve itself is ideally located for exploration of the Chianti region and Il Casello it is very close to it and to Panzano.
    The house is not far to a road, but there was no noise disturbing us both during the day and during the night. The house is old, which adds to the charm, but it has all the amenities one needs. You will have to bear with some steep steps, but that's all.
    Sleeping quality was good, as was the WiFi signal.

    We were looking for a quiet, relaxing slow paced holiday. Il Casello completely fitted the brief. The location was a few minutes from Panzano which has great places to eat. The views from the property were exceptional- breathtaking and we never tired of looking at different times of the day. The bedroom was truly Tuscan in decor and comfort, the air conditioning worked a treat and there wasn’t one mosquito thanks to the fitted Window nets. The pool was great, loungers and shade aplenty and the water, although not heated, warmed up more than enough to make it a pleasure to dip in to cool down.
    Our hosts brought cappuccinos out for breakfast without being asked and gave us China and cutlery for our market picnic feasts for eating al fresco.
    WiFi good everywhere around the property.
    Will definitely go back to use as a base again for touring the local area for a perfectly relaxing holiday.

    Eighteen friends stayed at this wonderful villa between Greve in Chianti and Panzano. All the rooms were en suite, very comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed a buffet breakfast each morning prepared by our Host. The villa has a pool, access to an on site washer, wonderful garden views, and overwhelming overlooks of the rural Tuscan landscape. We had a group happy hour each evening with a view of the sunset on the Tuscan farms below. Our week here was absolutely magical.
