Torre di Montioni goes back to the 12th century, with the external stairway and the loggia being added later, and until the end of the 1800s it was used as a summer country residence. The current owner renovated the whole building a few years ago, bringing the original architectural features back to light, and lives in the separate farmhouse with his family. The two apartments in the tower have been given over to holiday lets. The choice of furniture was guided by the desire to find very good quality antiques that would merge with old ambience, and the two apartments are both very well finished and comfortable. They are equipped with dishwasher, stereo with CD player, WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS and many other accessories. Both have private external areas with table and chairs for dining outside. The panorama is typical of the florentine hills, with olive groves and vineyards alternating with broad-leaved woods. 2.5 kms away at Rosano, you will find food shops, a restaurant and riding stables; Pontassieve is about 5 kms away and has all the main services you might need, including a public swimming-pool and the railway station which is just minutes from the centre of Florence, so you can avoid the problem of finding a parking space. Florence is about 18 kms away and the motorway about 15 kms. The lady owner will cook typical tuscan cuisine for your delight at a convenient price, she is also able to organise cooking classes.

"I just want to let you know we had a wonderful visit to Italy.

Both properties were excellent. We've stayed at Torre di Rosano a few years ago and it is still a very nice place. Owner takes good care of it and made our stay pleasant.
We hope to return there again.
Please pass on to our hosts that we enjoyed the visit and thier hospitality.

just to let you know we had a great stay at the villa. It was a beautiful place in a beautiful location.

Key-holder is one of the nicest people you could ever meet. We did a full day tour on the Friday which was excellent.

"Hello Alessandra,

It was not just a "nice stay", it was awesome! I had a wonderful time in the beautiful countryside, hiking everyday and walking down a lovely trail for morning cappucino. Ah, the Italian way of life. The family is so friendly and genuine. It was great being on a working olive plantation. The Torre itself was even better the the pictures. Big area to relax and the bedroom was rustic charm at it's best. Indeed, I plan on returning next April for 2 weeks! And then the next April for 4 weeks... In fact, I would live there today if only it were possible.

Once again, thanks for helping making it all happen and so smoothly too!

owners are wonderful hosts. They went out of their way to see that we had everything we needed. We were especially grateful for Massimo coming to the airport to meet us since our flight had been delayed over 11 hours causing us to be awake for about 38 hours. We never would have found it without his help. He also was kind enough to lead us back to the airport in the early morning hours to be sure we made our departing flight.

While we were there, he was so willing to help us find everything we needed and so generous with his time. Torre di Rosano is such a beautiful, peaceful setting. We have referred to our time there as "a vacation of a lifetime" and we appreciate everything that owners did to make it that way.

The Villa was immaculate, beautifully and efficiently furnished and as you probably already know, Massimo turns himself inside out to be sure that his guest are happy.

We also appreciated the Massimo and Martina's inviting us into their home for an aperitif after a tour of the grounds. They are a beautiful, gentle family who represent their home and their country magnificently.

Also all the members of your staff have been outstanding to work with. Linda and I appreciate your kindness and professionalism. We would certainly highly recommend you.

Oh and one more thing... il piacere e tutto mio ...ciao!

Thanks for your message. Hope your internet is working better now!

We had a great week at Rosano. We liked being within easy reach of the excellent local pool. We took the train to Florence which was a really easy journey. We loved the garden and the Torre itself. It was really well equipped and we were glad of the washing machine as the weather was so hot!

Massimilliano, you were really helpful coming to find us on the first day! We found out that our Sat Nav does not like the Italian countryside much! Apart from that we had no problems!

Many thanks again

"My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Torre di Rosano immensely. We never
imagined it could be so beautiful. The pictures did not do it justice.
The suite was well equipped for everything we needed to do, it was clean
and not to hot. The owners of the villa and his wife were very
helpful and kind. They even picked us up from the train station in
Pontiseive. The views from the suite were amazing. The front patio was
the perfect place to sit with a glass of wine and enjoy the tuscun sun
or read a book and relax. We would recommend Torre di Rosano to anyone
and we hope that we may travel back someday in the future.

Thank you so much for making our honeymoon so unforgettable.

"Our stay at Torre di Rosano was simply one of the best
travel experiences we have ever had. Torre di Rosano
offers just superb comfort and convenience in the
guise of a medieval getaway. The Torre provides one
of the most spectacular panormas in all of Tuscany,
with olive groves all around, a view of the monastery
on the adjoining hill, and the wonderful town of
Pontassieve down below, with great food shopping,
restaurants, and rail access to Firenze. I didn't
want to leave! It meant so much to have our hosts,
Massimo and Marina on sight. We enjoyed our casual
interaction with the entire family and shared a truly
magnificent evening meal on the veranda. They were so
welcoming and helpful in every way. It was a pleasure
and a privilege to be their guests.

We wanted to "get away," and we did. We actually had
some trouble finding our way the first day, but were
pleased to discover how much seclusion this location
afforded. I think it might be helpful to make a
hand-drawn map available to visitors or maybe a few
photographs of the route to let people know they're
heading the right way.

Thanks again for a memorable experience and for
keeping in touch.
