FIRST FLOOR: 1 twin bedroom (beds 90x200) with up and down glass screen with shower and bath tub (ensuite); 1 double bedroom (160x195) with en suite bathroom with bath tub that can be shared with 1 single bedroom which can be furnished as a changing room on request; 1 double bedroom with en suite bathroom with bath tub, satellite TV with Sky and air conditioning; large library with fireplace and Sky satellite TV, DVD and CD player, Hi-Fi stereo and minibar; central reception room with terraces and panoramic view.
The bathrooms with a bathtub have been adapted to include shower cubicles.
LOWER FLOOR: large, well-equipped kitchen with direct access to the garden which is furnished for eating “al fresco”; breakfast room; laundry room.This is one of the most authentic villas in the Lucca area, going back to the 17th century, and has preserved the refinement and elegance of that historical period. The owners live in the house during the winter, but leave all of the precious furnishings in the villa when it is given over to guests. Antique furniture, paintings and 18th century objects along with luxurious materials and curtains.
The grounds, which are completely enclosed, are shaped by paths bordered with flowerbeds, scented rose-gardens and tall trees, and in the upper part is a 6x14m swimming-pool, well-equipped with sunbeds, deckchairs, shower and gazebo. Beyond the grounds there is also a property with over 20 hectacres of olive trees.
The villa has satellite-TV, stereo with CD player, air conditioning in all of the bedrooms, internet connection WIFI, laundry and domestic staff who, besides cleaning the house can also prepare you lunch or dinner, espresso coffe machine, ice maker machine
The villa lies about 6 kms from the centre of Lucca and from the entrance to the motorway which leads to Florence (75 kms) or to the versilian coast (Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi) 35 kms away. The airport at Pisa is about 18 kms away. Lucca and its area offer may cultural and sightseeing attractions along with the regions gastronomic traditions and the DOC wines produced in the Montecarlo area.

Our generous and gracious hostess met us on arrival for the initial tour of the family home. We all selected one of the well appointed bedrooms with
accompanying bathroom. The 400 year old villa is full of antiques, paintings and was a thrill to hang our hats for 7 days. We acted like children squealing with delight at discovering each beautiful room or wandering through the glorious gardens surrounding this magnificent property.
It’s close proximity to Lucca, Pisa and other towns such as Forte dei Marmi kept us busy exploring each day. One of the staff served our breakfast in the garden each morning (including fresh cherries from their trees) and helped us with laundry and any questions regarding the local area. He is an asset to the
property - we all wanted to take him home!
Two nights we took advantage of the cook who prepared a scrumptious meal of local fare served in the magnificent dining room. We didn’t use the pool as we were too busy exploring, but if staying in the heat of summer I’m sure it would be a pleasure to hang around.
We all felt our time went too soon and would happily recommend this glorious ancient villa to any group or family.
There are thousands of rental villas throughout Italy, but very few as spectacular as Villa Giurlani.Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour dans la villa et sa propriété. Son emplacement est parfait, à proximité de Lucca et pas trop loin de Pise, et le site est magnifique.
La villa est très impressionnante de part sa taille et son cachet. Il y au moins trois pieces dans laquelle nous ne sommes jamais allés! Elle est ancienne, donc «dans son jus» et peut ne pas correspondre aux normes de confort attendues par certains locataires mais nous cela ne nous a pas ennuyés car elle fait plus authentique.
La piscine est tres belle et tres bien entretenue.
Les diners preparés par la cuisiniere etaient extras et toute la famille en garde un tres bon souvenir. On paie le meme prix qu’au restaurant mais c’est vraiment tres bon et beaucoup plus familial.
Mention spécial au gardien qui prepare les petits dejeuners. Il est tres gentil et efficace.
Lorque nous reviendrons dans la region nous ferons tout pour retourner dans la villa.
