Villa La Pergola is immersed in the green hills of Umbria, amidst the olive-tree groves, vineyards and sunflower fields, only 15 km from the splendid medieval city of Todi. It is a typical stone-build farmhouse that dates back to 1600. It has recently undergone restoration work yet it maintains its original country house atmosphere, with terracotta floors and wooden-ceiling beams, but at the same time is capable of offering its guests all the necessary modern comforts for a special vacation, in search of nature and relaxation. It is situated on the top of a hill, in a secluded position and accessed by one of the many roads that wind through this countryside, with an enchanting view of the valleys and surrounding hills, covered in meadows, olive-tree groves, vineyards and cypresses. The interiors are spacious and pleasantly furnished with traditional Umbrian-style furniture, with several shared areas for relaxing, reading and talking together. The property is entirely fenced-in and is therefore secure for small pets, which are allowed. In the front part, overlooking the valley, there is a large pergola with a table that seats 10 people for outdoor dining and next to it is another covered loggia, also furnished for outdoor dining and with a barbecue. This loggia is located along the side of the panoramic swimming pool (12x5m) created where the "wash-house" once stood (the wash-house was where there were once tubs used for washing the laundry). Upon request the guests can also take advantage of the various extra services offered, such as the preparation of lunches and dinners by an excellent local chef, wine tasting, wine and gastronomic tours of Umbrian specialities, thematic excursions, cultural tours, massages, cooking lessons and much more. The Villa is part of a large property, where a castle dating back to 1000 stands in the middle of it and which you can reach by going for a pleasant walk. Nearby there is a large selection of restaurants, ranging from high-class ones (one of the most famous restaurants in Italy, Vissani, is only a few kilometres away) to local trattorias as well as magnificent historic towns such as Orvieto, Assisi, Spoleto and Perugia.
