Villa di Marciano lies in the Chianti Classico hills about 4 kms from Castellina in Chianti and about 10 from San Donato in Poggio, halfway between Florence and Siena (about 30 kms from both of them). It stands in a very panoramic position, with a view of the valley called Val d'Elsa and of San Gimignano, inside the largest cypress grove in Europe, where peace and tranquillity reign and enhance the beauty and colour of the natural surroundings. It was originally a large rural farmhouse, and the current owners, after a long renovation, have transformed it into an elegant country residence, using high-quality materials both for the furniture and for the upholstery, with everything perfectly coordinated room by room. Outside they have made a 8x16m swimming-pool - with hydromassage and a little stone waterfall - and around the villa is a pleasant garden surrounded by the woods. The small courtyard is a nice little nook with tables and soft lighting where you can take an aperitif or a fresh drink when you come back from the pool. On the other side you will find a spacious loggia in terracotta with a typical wooden-beamed ceiling, furnished simply and elegantly. The loggia, ventilated and with the magical sunsets that the summer skies offer every evening, is the perfect place for dinner and breakfast. This area, which is famous for producing Chianti Classico wine, has many vineyards where you can taste and buy the best local wines, and at the same time offers excellent restaurants where you can enjoy the best tuscan cuisine. The owners live in an independent villa close to the villa, and are available to give any information you might need at times to be agreed on arrival, occasionally they may also share the swimming-pool. Behind the villa is a reception with independent entrance. To reach the villa there is an untarred access road of about 3 kms.
