The villa lies in a large lemongrove plantation between Etna and the sea, just 2 kms from the sea, 30 minutes by car from Etna and 10 minutes from the center of Taormina in the village of Trappitello. The villa is surrounded by a mediterranean garden of about 2000 sq. m. with a lawn, sweet-smelling and flowering plants, olive trees and palm trees. This is a manor house from the end of the 1800s in mediterranean style with high-quality period furniture - the dining-room holds a collection of plates showing the history of 19th century Italy - and the house has all the best modern conveniences such as air-conditioning, stereo with CD player, satellite-TV, telephone, PC with internet access, dishwasher, laundry with washing-machine. Two bedrooms look onto the garden, one is in the tower which is reached via a wrought-iron spiral staircase from the 1800s. Outside there is a large gazebo covered with a climbing plant, a dining-area and the private 6x14 m swimming-pool. From the garden you can admire Mount Etna with its fascinating night-time lava flows. Besides the daily cleaning service included in the price you can also book the services of a cook to be paid separately. There is not much to add about Taormina and its beautiful coastline that has not already been said and written by the many travellers that have come here since the beginning of the 1700s and who have defined it the pearl of the Mediterranean. Along the coastline that is one of the most beautiful and famous in the world you follow a long series of large coves and pretty inlets alternating with the beaches at Spisone, Mazzarò, and capo Sant'Andrea. Minimarkets, pharmacy and basic shops are 1,5 kms distant from the villa, the town of Taormina lies about 6 kms away, Catania 50 kms, Syracuse 90 kms, Piazza Armerina 120 kms.
