This is an old stone farmhouse in the Chianti hills, on the edge of the small village called Vico d'Elsa, in a tranquil and panoramic position. Villa San Michele is on two floors, and looks onto the garden and swimming-pool with the famous town of San Gimignano in the background. It is furnished with antique tuscan pieces of excellent taste, and comes equipped with satellite TV, dishwasher, and telephone (reception only), broadband internet connection. The architecture is typically tuscan with terracotta floors and wooden-beamed ceilings and the details of the furnishings have been particularly well thought-out. Outside, guests have the use of a furnished garden with an area for dining outside, barbecue and a private swimming-pool (6x12m). The centre of the village is about 500 metres away, and there you will find food shops and a restaurant. About 3 kms away there is a convenient supermarket and 7 kms away in the town of Poggibonsi are all the other services you might need: banks, supermarkets and all kinds of shops. The countryside is beautiful with olive groves and vineyards and Villa San Michele is a perfect base for visiting the Chianti villages, as well as San Gimignano 10 kms away, and Barberino Val d'Elsa 4 kms. Florence and Siena are within easy reach along the dual-carriageway (Superstrade Firenze-Siena) and are respectively 40 and 35 kms away. You can find excellent restaurants everywhere in the area and lots of vineyards where you can taste and buy exceptional local wines.
