Villa San Marco lies in the area of Bagheria, a village well-known for its numerous baroque villas, built from the 17th century onwards by the Palermitan aristocrats for their summer residences. Unfortunately not all of them can be seen and only one, the famous Villa Palagonia, can be visited. Inside the large enclosed grounds there are two annexes served by an independent entrance, and close by, next to a large orchard, is the 7x14m swimming-pool shared with the owners (the pool is closed for maintenance from 1 p.m to 3 p.m). The apartments are independent and each one has its own private outside area with absolute peace and quiet, and in the completely enclosed grounds you can admire all kinds of interesting plants, all very well looked after. The furnishings are modern with some antique Sicilian furniture. Both apartments are equipped with washing-machine, barbecue and air-conditioning in the living-room and in the twin bedroom. There is car parking inside the grounds. The nearest beach is 3.5 km away at Ponticello, an attractive fishing village where you will also find excellent restaurants, while the center of Palermo is about 17 km away. Food shops and other services are only 500 meters away in the village of Santa Flavia.
