In the Chianti area called "Colli Fiorentini" - the florentine hills - just 10 kms from Florence, you will find the farm called Fattoria di Torre a Cona, which extends over 200 hectacres, is surrounded by green countryside and lies in an attractive panoramic position, with vineyards and olive groves all round. At the centre of all the farm's activity is the magnificent and imposing Villa di Torre a Cona, considered the most spectacular of the florentine villas and is probably the largest: the original building goes back to the 13th century, but the current building is the result of an 18th century reconstruction. Around the building are clustered the old farmhouses, and some of them have been transformed into guest houses. Villa Lecceta is one of these: it lies on a small hill behind the main Villa, in a panoramic position. Recently restored with particular attention to the typical characteristics of tuscan farmhouses, it has two nice, shady gardens (the smaller of which borders on the rear of a small haybarn, which is also a guest house) and a panoramic terrace furnished with tables, chairs and sun-shades. The interiors are very spacious and have been comfortably furnished with good taste and careful attention to detail. The kitchen is well-equipped, and comes with dishwasher, oven, microwave; also available to guests are a washing-machine and satellite-TV. The (9x8m) swimming-pool lies at the rear of the main Villa, dominated by a 17th century tower and can be reached on foot along a 200m path. Use of the pool is shared with guests of the other farmhouses. There are several opportunities for sporting activities: you can rent mountain-bikes, and nearby are tennis and horse-riding stables. You can also visit the wine-cellars and the olive-oil mill, and take courses in cooking, restoration and painting.
