The area around Todi, in the center of Umbria, has a landscape that, while passing through it, appears to take you back in time: there are many traces of its ancient past - Etruscan and roman remains, medieval and renaissance buildings and churches - all lying in a gentle, dreamy countryside with a warm atmosphere of rare beauty. Villa Angela stands just a few kilometers outside Todi, in a dominant position at the top of a hill, with a splendid panoramic view of the medieval town and of the surrounding countryside. The building has ancient origins - in fact it was started in roman times and then changed at various times in the succeeding centuries - and has returned to its old splendor following a careful renovation, which envisaged the use of old stonework and beams and appropriate materials such as floors in raw terracotta, window frames in old wood: in a word everything necessary in order to bring out the house's special architectural and artistic qualities. At the same time no expense has been spared to ensure the greatest comfort. The house is divided into four levels: the first two both have access to the garden and all of the floors are linked by a convenient internal lift. On the first floor they have made a health area with Turkish bath and hydro massage, and here there is the little independent apartment for the domestics, who manage the house and look after the garden. The furnishings are valuable, with antique paintings and furniture, lavish curtains, chosen with excellent taste by the current owners, part of a old and illustrious noble family. The atmosphere is enchanting and is completed by the views that you can enjoy from many of the windows of the villa, where nature and history combine to offer wonderful glimpses of the countryside. The villa is surrounded by a large and well-tended panoramic garden, enclosed and illuminated, with various levels and terraces, and a nice 6x12m swimming-pool. To complete the well-being and comfort of guests there are: telephone switchboard, 8 satellite TVs, security installation with 8 closed-circuit televisions, 2 broadband internet connections, and air-conditioning in some of the bedrooms.
