The ridge leading to San Pancrazio is one of the places that gives you the best idea of the relaxed beauty of the Tuscan countryside. On both sides of the road there is a continuous succession of views of gentle hills with olive groves and rows of vines, with old farmhouses, nearly all of them by now well renovated, blending perfectly into the countryside. You arrive at the house through the village of Santa Cristina in Salivolpe, which in the past was part of the large estates of the Strozzi family, originally starting out as a look-out tower, and then becoming a hunting lodge. The renovation has maintained intact the architectural features, and has been furnished with love using vivacious, comfortable furniture and ornaments, and has been equipped with dishwasher, washing-machine, stereo with CD player, barbecue and telephone. The property consists of two buildings: the main house and an annex which can be completely independent. The outside areas enjoy the beautiful view and are very well looked-after without disturbing the natural surroundings. The private swimming-pool (5x12m) is at the rear of the house, close-by but conveniently protected by a hedge from another pool belonging to the house next door, so there is no lack of privacy and complete independence. The nearest village is San Pancrazio, where you will find food shops, whereas the closest town, San Casciano Val di Pesa, is about 10 km away. Florence is 25 km away, Siena 55. Nearby, besides many excellent restaurants, you will also find vineyards where you can try and buy excellent Chianti wines.
