The Giudecca district is the largest island in Venice and separated from the main part by the Giudecca Canal, opposite the Dorsoduro district and San Marco. It is one of the quietest and most attractive in the city, with the Basilica del Redentore and the church of San Giorgio Maggiore, both of which were designed by Palladio, among the most important works on the island. The apartment lies on two floors, has been furnished with great care and comes with heating, oven and washing-machine. From the nice terrace on the higher floor, you can take in the panorama of the Giudecca Canal and of the bell-tower in San Marco, and on the other side you can see a wide stretch of open sea of the lagoon. Rio della Croce lies on a small canal and can therefore be reached by water-taxi. It's best to go to Venice by train or by plane due to the parking difficulties, but for those who want to go there by car we would advise you to park in Mestre and to use public transport to arrive in the city centre. On agreement with the owners a trip in a gondola can be arranged at a competitive price.
