Palazzo del Podestà is a historic building in Amalfi that goes back to the time of the marine repubblic. Il Palazzo del Podestà lies right in the old town centre of Amalfi and its position gives you the opportunity of experiencing all aspects of daily life in Amalfi. The town is rich in history, art and traditional customs, and living in the old town centre is a great experience - totally different from a fleeting tourist visit. The town's history and its more interesting aspects, its picturesque nooks and crannies can only be properly appreciated living at its heart, which is full of small alleyways and little hidden piazzas with its 'living-rooms' - the bars, pubs and wine bars, along with the theatre and a variety of restaurants each of which has its own specialities. Tourists don't know what they are missing as they pass these hidden corners by, along with the opportunity of meeting the natives.
