The owner was a great host. He carried my suitcase up the many stairs to reach the apartment, spoke good english and gave us lots of great recommendations. The property was much bigger than we expected, with 3 seperate terraces, a working spa and beautiful top balcony qith a stunning view.

If only I could sit on this balcony, read a book, enjoy a cup of coffee and stare out at the view forever! The pictures speak for themselves. As noted from the listing and other reviews, there are some steps to get here, but if you’re prepared - it’s manageable. The owner helped us carry our bags up during check in, and my husband and I handled them down for our departure. You can hire porters though if you’re an over packer and not able to carry them physically yourself. The owner was extremely helpful. He provided a map with an overview of the coast and best ways and times to get to other popular spots along the coast. He gave us restaurant recommendations, and one (Kasai) was still the best meal we’ve had on our trip. This would be a great spot for you if you want to stay in the area but avoid the more touristy hustle and bustle of busier spots (e.g. Positano). We rented scooters and went for a day trip. It was perfect! A peaceful getaway!

Nous étions en scooter pendant tout le séjour mais sinon le logement situé à 12 minutes à pied environ de l'église de Praiano. We loved our stay at this beautiful place! The house was spacious and clean and the views from all three patios were breathtaking! Do know that there are about 6 flights of stairs from the closest bus stop to get up to the house. Also, it's about twice or three times that many stairs to get down to town and many more stairs still after that to the beach. You'll be staying at the very top of Praiano so convenience to restaurants, shops and the beach is not great but the quiet home and spectacular views make it worth it. The hosts are very friendly and will answer any questions promptly. We would stay there again!

A beautiful home, lots of outdoor spaces and great views of the sea and the coastline. The House Manager was extremely hospitable at check in and everything was comfortable, would definitely recommend this home. Since the home is pretty far up from the sea, we rented a scooter from Flavio Gioia, great experience and a fun way to explore the coast. Again, would definitely recommend!

I recommend this property! Beautiful views from three terraces, very roomy, and quiet. House Manager is very communicative and responsive and we appreciated his help during our stay. The town shuttle is at the bottom of the property steps. There are over 100 steps from the street to the property and are not too difficult once you get used to them. If you don't want to use the town shuttle or don't have a car, you can also walk to restaurants/shops (about 400+ steps down). You can also walk to the closest beach (another 500 steps down to the water). We had a lovely stay in early September.

The owner & his family are amazing hosts! Their home is breathtaking and has all the amenities you will ever need, with a rooftop balcony that will make you not want to leave. My girlfriend and I will be back next summer.

This Villa is an amazing space, very Italian interior decor with all amenities you can need and more, including a jacuzzi on the terrace overlooking the sea! The patio was also very beautiful. The villa was incredibly spacious and very clean on arrival. We arrived quite late in the evening, later than planned and our host was so accommodating and helpful! The communication was prompt throughout and he was very responsive always offering help. The only challenge we had was getting up and down the stairs to the villa as there are quite a lot of steps which caused us to struggle quite a bit. The villa is a lovely stay, but I would highlight a certain level of fitness is needed to climb up and down those stairs throughout your stay

Lovely views! But the stairs do give you a bit of a workout. We loved being away from all the people staying in Praiano. Learning the bus system takes a minute, but other wise, we loved our time here!

La Sovrana è una casa tipica della costiera con tavoli in maiolica in tutti e tre i terrazzi. Dal tetto panoramico si gode una vista paradisiaca con vista sui faraglioni e Li Galli. Casa ben attrezzata, super pulita e spaziosa. I proprietari sono degli host straordinari, ci hanno viziato con dolci tipici e tanta accoglienza dal primo all'ultimo giorno della nostra straordinaria vacanza. Grazie di cuore.

House Manager was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The house was very clean and spacious and the hot tub was an added bonus. Overall, the house was very good value for money but be aware it is up lots of steps so is something to consider.

Posizione stupenda, vista della costiera, si vedono bene Li Galli e Capri. Casa molto grande, spaziosa e confortevole. Due bagni, una grossa camera da letto, una grossa sala, una cucina piccola ma con tutto l'occorrente e comunque in open space con la sala quindi molto aperte e con una finestra stupenda che da sul terrazzo con un bellissimo ulivo. sopra la casa c'è un terrazzo molto grande con doccia esterna, tavolo da pranzo, dondolo, sdraio, tavolino e sedie e una piccola jacuzzi. Il tutto coperto e con vista stupenda del mare. Unica pecca, se così possiamo dire ma per me no anzi era un valore aggiunto, ci sono 120 scalini circa per salire su in casa poichè molto in alto e accessibile solo con viuzza molto bella e caratteristica. Tutto ciò le garantisce una tranquillità impagabile e priva di smog e caos della città. Ne vale la pena. Garage disponibile a pagamento e parcheggi in giro per le vie. Facile da raggiungere e da li è facile raggiungere il mare e dirigersi verso i paesini limitrofi.

Beautiful place - even nicer than it looks in the pictures! The traditional vibe of the interior is truly at one with the village, and the outdoor spaces are perfect for al fresco meals. The hot tub was a lovely touch and a great place to relax under the stars - just learn from our mistake and make sure to switch it on a good 6+ hours before getting in, as it takes a while to heat up. Anna and her son were super helpful, giving us local tips and available to answer our questions on WhatsApp when we had any. Overall, a wonderful experience and one I highly recommend :)

The apartment is perfect, stunning view from the terrace and the small pool! It's by far one of the best properties we stayed at!
Everything was clean and tidy, the kitchen had all the necessary to enjoy an handmade meal on the terrace, the internal spaces are wide and well organised!
Quick communication before and throughout the stay. Close to restaurant, bars and beaches.
I would only suggest to book a vespa or motorbike before arriving as they were sold out when we went there and it would have make much easier to move around!
Very pleased with our holiday there, definitely recommended!!

Unsere Reise und Urlaub in Praiano waren sehr schön. Das Haus war gut ausgestattet, die beide Terrassen waren sehr schön mit einen schönen Ausblick aufs Meer. Schlafzimmer war OK, wir haben sehr gut geschlafen. Die Hauswarterin war sehr hilfreich und nett und hat uns oft verwöhnt mit Gemüse aus ihr Garten.


Die Umgebung ist traumhaft. Wir haben fast alles besucht: Capri, Salerno, Ravello, Positano, Sorrent, Pompei und der Vesuv. Alles unterschiedlich aber im allgemeinen haben wir von jeder Stadt genossen. Transport ist am besten zu tun mit Bus. Bustransport ist gut organisiert.


Die 125 Stufen zum Haus waren im Anfang anstrengend, aber nach einige Tagen war es eigentlich OK und kein Problem. Es gehört einfach dabei.


Wir haben genossen von unserem Urlaub!

We enjoyed our stay at La Sovrana very much. Our hosts were gracious and helpful. They arranged for a boat tour of Capri that was wonderful.

The villa was clean and well appointed. We loved the beautiful views of the town and the water.

The town of Praiano was nice and quiet and had good restaurants. When we visited other towns on the Amalfi coast, we enjoyed coming back to our quiet villa.

We were not expecting the long stairways up to the villa, but we soon got used to climbing them.

La Sovrana is a beautiful, spacious and well equipped apartment, with as much outside space as you could possibly need. The views from the terrace are absolutely breathtaking and we had almost to pinch ourselves to believe that we were somewhere so spectacular.

The key holder, was really friendly and welcoming with lots of good advice about where to visit, and what was happening locally, and popped in on occasion with some home cooking which was much appreciated.

You need to be fit to stay at the apartment due to the 123 steps to get up there from the road, and if you don't have a car, to negotiate the hill to get to the steps. If you are feeling really keen you can climb the steps from the main street, however that was a task too far for us whilst in holiday mode!!

Priano itself is lovely, and Marina di Praia, only a short walk away, is a great place to relax and spend the day.

The only thing which we forgot to mention to Anna is that there was a leak in the shower in the main bathroom. Other than that everything was brilliant and we would recommend the apartment to anyone.

We enjoyed our visit to Praiano. The villa was great- comfortable and well appointed, with stunning views from the terrace. The owners were very helpful, particularly when we arrived and had to carry our luggage up the 100 steps! We wondered at times whether we could have managed without a car, in view of the excellent bus service to and from the beach and towns along the Amalfi coast, but we concluded that although parking near the villa was a bit of a lottery, we did the need the car for what we were anxious to see. The highlights of our holiday were visits to Ravello, Vesuvius and Herculaneum, the boat trip to Capri, swimming from Praiano beach, and relaxing on the terrace in the evenings. At times, we found driving on the coastal road unnerving, with many drivers – especially motorcyclists - impatient and clearly in possession of a death wish!

We had very good experience with Villa Italy. La Sovrana was what we were expecting . Although you mentioned 500 steps up from road we didnt realise it was VERTICALLY up! However on the plus side climbing all those steps every day allowed us to have a gelati at the wonderful Bar del Sole every day without feeling guilty!

Anna and Luigi were brilliant hosts. Luigi gave us veggies from his garden and Anna was constantly giving us homemade icecream, cake, tomato sauce etc. Anna also gave us tips on where to walk.

wir haben in La Sovrana eine wunderschöne Woche verbracht. Alles war bestens: Das Haus war sauber, es war alles vorhanden, was man brauchte. Die zwei Bäder waren richtig toll, auch super sauber und mit Liebe ausgestattet.Ein echtes Highlight ist natürlich der direkte Blick aufs Meer bis nach Capri. Wir haben jeden Abend auf der kleinen Terrasse den Sonnenuntergang bei einem selbst gekochten italienischen Menü und gutem italienischen Wein genossen. Das war wirklich traumhaft.Uns haben die über 100 Stufen bis zum Haus nicht gestört - beim Einchecken wurden unsere Koffer sogar vom Sohn des Hauses nach oben getragen - allerdings sollte man schon ein wenig fit sein, denn dieses Vergnügen hat man ja jeden Tag, insbesondere auch nach dem Einkaufen. Allerdings gibt es für diese Fälle auch einen Lieferservice in Praiano. Praiano ist übrigens wunderschön, nicht so überlaufen wie Amalfi oder auch Positano, wir waren sehr froh, dass wir nicht dort gelandet sind. Die Amalfiküste an sich ist einfach nur überwältigend - ein wunderschönes Fleckchen Erde. Ganz besonders zu empfehlen sind Wanderungen oberhalb des Hauses, man kann sich gar nicht sattsehen.

Wir würden La Sovrana sofort wieder buchen und würden Praiano allen Amalfi-Urlaubern ermpfehlen.

Our three weeks at La Sovrana in September were wonderful, wonderful! The location is spectacular, and the house itself, cozy, spotless, and a real home for us . All in all La Sovrana, far exceeded our expectations, but above all we cannot say enough how wonderful both owners are.
In over forty years of travel they were among the most caring and attentive hosts we have ever had. We recommend La Sovrana to all those who wish to have an authentic experience on the Amalfitana Coast.

La Sovrana is idyllic and serene, a little bit of paradise. Situated high above Praiano (and blissfully removed from the traffic that plies the main coastal road) , the villa's two private terraces (rooftop and lower) afford peace, tranquillity and beauty. The interior is spacious and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen - we cooked most evenings, often fresh fish. (And our charming host, who lives nearby with her husband, spoiled us with some of her superb home cooking). Meals take a little planning, as food sources are lower down the hill, but we got used to the steps, viewing them as a prelude to a hike later in the day. Yes, you need to be somewhat fit to stay here, but we're in our sixties, and would do it again!. We'll miss you and La Sovrana.

Nous avons été enchantés de notre séjour à la Sovrana. Les propriétaires sont très accueillants et contribuent largement à rendre le séjour le plus agréable possible. Le logement et les commodités sont conformes aux annonces. Les nombreuses marches sont effectivement un peu inconvénient mais le paysage récompense amplement l'effort fourni. Nous gardons un excellent souvenir de nos vacances tant pour la beauté de la région, la richesse historique des alentours ainsi que pour le logement et la sympathie des propriétaires.

Everything was well organized by you and the owners of the apartment.

Accomodation was excellent, very clean and well equipped. It was very quiet and peaceful. The owners were very hospitable, bringing home grown vegetables and home made desserts on several days.

We loved Priano, much more than the other sites, Sorrento etc. The people were really friendly, nice restaurants without being touristy. Think it would be a difficult place to stay without a car.

Yes we had a fantastic three weeks in Italy.
