The property is inside the renaissance grounds of the Villa Favard, at the south entrance to the city of Florence, on the old roman road called Aretina. Surrounded by green vegetation and yet only a few minutes from the old city centre of Florence, since 1946 it has been the home of a precious artisan cloth-mill, started by the Countess of Frassineto in order to continue the ancient renaissance tradition of weaving by hand. Guests can visit the workshop and buy the precious weaves. The large apartment has been furnished with good taste in the classic tuscan style, and all the bedrooms have ceiling-fans and TV. The kitchen is equipped with dishwasher and electric oven, and in the living-room guests can play billiard (pool table) and use the stereo/CD. In the large external areas you may walk around the private, completely enclosed grounds or take a refreshing swim in the swimming-pool 7x12 metre which is shared with the owners. Guests may leave their car in the internal parking area and reach the old city centre of Florence by public transport (the bus stop is 200 metres away) in less than fifteen minutes. Guests at Il Parco therefore have the rare privilege of living in one of the few quiet, green areas inside the city of Florence.
