This old castello was built at the beginning of the 16th century, and was once the residence of the Grand Duke Leopoldo II of Tuscany. It has now for many years been the property of the Merciai family, who have in time transformed the castello into an elegant home where guests can spend an unforgettable holiday. Castello di Magona has kept intact all of its precious furnishings, and the bedrooms have been personalized with individual wallpapering of different colours and equipped with modern bathrooms. The majestic salons on the ground floor contain many of the paintings that belonged to the Grand Duke.
