Villa Petrea is a typical nineteenth-century style building with all four walls in stone. It lies at the edge of Chianti in the village of Bucine, at the start of the road that goes all the way down the valley of Val d'Ambra and along the edge of a large part of the Sienese Chianti region. The villa is on the top of a low hill surrounded by cypresses and centuries-old olive trees. It has been completely renovated to bring the interior comfort up to the standards of the beauty of the building and the result is decidedly high-quality. All of the bedrooms have their own bathroom, satellite-TV, telephone, internet access and air-conditioning, and the bedroom on the ground floor has also been equipped for the disabled. The interior is decorated entirely in typical Tuscan style with some antique pieces and high-quality furnishings. The kitchen is well-equipped and comes complete with dishwasher. Included in the price is a cleaning service for 3 hours per day (except Sunday), bathroom linen is changed twice a week and towels are provided for the swimming-pool. Outside, in addition to the private 7x14m swimming-pool, there is a large covered patio furnished with tables and chairs for outside dining and a Mediterranean garden with a beautiful view over the valley. The owner of the villa is a tennis teacher and you can organize lessons on request for 26 Euro per hour at the nearby tennis club in Montevarchi. You can also hire mountain-bikes on the premises or hire a local cook who will prepare Tuscan delicacies for you at the villa. The village of Bucine is about 1.5 km away, and the A1 Milan/Rome motorway about 6 km. Florence is 40 km away and Siena 30 km. Nearby to the villa you will find several excellent restaurants.
